Field Visit Program

Enipeas Agricultural Cooperative, Farsala

The Agricultural Cooperative of Farsala Province “ENIPEAS” was established in 2017 at Mikro Evydrio and operates across the wider region of Farsala. Its foundation was driven by the cooperative spirit and the shared vision of local producers to overcome the challenges facing the agricultural sector, promote their products at competitive prices, thereby enhancing both the value of their work and their position in the market. Today, the Cooperative consists of more than 100 members, most of whom actively participate in 5 groups: Cow’s Milk, Cotton, Cereals, Industrial Tomato, and Pulses. Enipea’s mission is to strengthen agricultural cooperation among new and older farmers and promote the economic and social development of the Farsala region. A.C. ENIPEAS has achieved measurable qualitative and quantitative results, and stands well-prepared to address the challenges of Greek or European agriculture at technological & social levels.

Enipea’s Cooperative is highly focused on regenerative agriculture, with the guidance and support of the Earthworm Foundation and Terra Thessalia (cluster of the University of Thessaly undergoing a 4 years plan in the region of Farsala and Orchomenos. The interesting results concern the significant improvement of soil fertility, the reduction of fertilizer use, water consumption, etc. Through these results, however, added value is created in the products and, as the Regenerative agriculture cotton has already gained value and is already being exported abroad, the cooperative is proceeding with the expansion of the project to other crops, such as wheat, legumes, and industrial tomatoes with the aim of exporting these products to European countries.
