Nikolaos Roidos was born in 1955 in Dialabi, Rodopi, to farmer parents. After concluding his studies in the Practical Gymnasium of Komotini, he was accepted in the Agricultural School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki where he graduated in 1979.
From 1983 to 1987 he was employed by the Agricultural Coop of Skoutari, Serres. In April 1987 he was appointed in the Cotton Organization, a position which he held until its dissolution in 2001. In 2002 he was dispatched and worked for OPEKEPE (Payment and Control Agency for Guidance and Guarantee Community Aid).
From 2003 until 2007 he worked for the Directorate of Tobacco and Cotton of the Municipality of Serres and after its merging, for the Directorate of Agricultural Development of Serres. Since the beginning of 2012 he has been the manager of the Agricultural and Animal Production of DAOK (Directorate for Agricultural Economy and Veterinary of the Regional Unit of Serres).
He is married and he is a father to one daughter.
