Lucas Marxen is the Associate Director of the Office of Research Analytics within the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station at Rutgers University.  As Associate Director, he provides leadership and direction on the development of analytical capabilities and services to meet the ongoing demand of stakeholders both within and outside the university.

Lucas has expertise in developing geographic information systems (GIS), enabling spatial analysis and modeling for research initiatives in a variety of disciplines.  In addition, he leads a team that specializes in incorporating computer technology into research projects, establishing in-house capacity for developing custom software, database and website solutions for a variety of research and extension initiatives.  He also has developed an unmanned aircraft program to provide certified drone expertise for data collection and analysis for research programs and integration into academic curriculum.

Lucas earned a Master in City and Regional Planning from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy and a Master of Science in Computer Science from Rutgers University.
