Dr. Eleni Athanasiadou is a Horticulturist (BSc Hortic. Wye College, University of London, MSc Hortic. University of Reading) and a Landscape Architect (MLA and PHD form the  Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), teaching landscape architecture in higher education institutions of Greece since 2005.  She is currently laboratory teaching staff at the School of Agriculture, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, co-teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses relevant to landscape architecture at the School of Agriculture, School of Architecture and at the Joint Postgraduate Program of Studies ‘Landscape Architecture’. She has co-supervised over twenty undergraduate dissertation theses and been involved (as a participant or coordinator) in workshops and architectural competitions regarding planning and design of landscapes. Since 2002, she participates in national and international research programs under the themes of crop protection, organic farming, landscape architecture and urban rejuvenation. Her PhD thesis was on spatio-temporal analysis of the suburban landscape using landscape metrics and her main scientific interests include landscape planning, landscape ecology and historic aspects of gardens, parks and landscapes. She is the co-author of two books (on organic agriculture and on land-use planning) and one book chapter (on resilience of the suburban landscape). She has published four articles in scientific journals and ten and nine articles in international and national conferences proceedings, respectively. She is member of the editorial board of journal ‘Land’ and a reviewer on MDPI’s several other Journals. She is the landscape architect responsible for the management of the Gardens of Anatolia College, Greece. Finally, she is Vice President Communications of PHALA (PanHellenic Association of Landscape Architects) and a member of IALE, LE:NOTRE Institute, EUCALAND and the Mediterranean Garden Society.
