Personal Data Policy


The policy applies to all kind of AgriBusiness Forum formats, inclusive in person, hybrid or virtual participation


Transparency is among AgriBusiness Forum (herein after referred to as ABF) priorities. AgriBusiness Forum herewith wishes to clearly explain on how it collects and processes your personal data about protecting your privacy upon using ABF products, services and website(s).

 

ABF is to the ownership and jurisdiction of Geo Routes Institute based in Athens-Greece (8 Vasileos Irakliou str. 10682) which only collects, uses, and processes your personal information in accordance with actual data protection legislation. This includes but not limited to, EU Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regards to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) and applicable national data protection legislation.

 

Your personal data are usually obtained directly from you. In this case, you provide your personal data on a voluntary basis. Specific cases of non-disclosure of personal data may affect the ability of ABF to properly provide services, or properly perform contractual obligations. ABF acts on behalf of its subscribers and other clients in the capacity of a data controller.

 

A) FOR WHAT PURPOSES ARE PERSONAL DATA PROCESSED?

ABF processes your personal data as needed for the following purposes:

  1. Provision of services, including the delivery of digital content (legal basis: processing all necessary for contractual performance or for the implementation of measures taken before a contract is concluded);
  2. Processing payments, including maintenance of payments, together with payment processors (legal basis: processing necessary for contractual performance);
  3. Marketing activities, including the delivery of personalized content, targeting of advertising or the sending of newsletters (legal basis: legitimate interest);
  4. Determination and enforcement of ABF ‘s legal claims (legal basis: legitimate interest);
  5. Compliance with legislation: If necessary, ABF will ask you for permission to process your personal data.

 

B) WHAT CATEGORIES OF PERSONAL DATA DO WE PROCESS?

Using the services provided by ABF may require the following data:

  1. Name, surname, job title, company and industry;
  2. Address, telephone number, mobile number and email;
  3. Payment details (payment card information);
  4. Your preferences and opinions on products and services;
  5. Your browsing activity on our websites.

 

C) WHEN DO WE COLLECT DATA?

All data that we receive is obtained directly or indirectly from you when you choose to use our services. This includes the following situations:

  1. When you subscribe to our newsletter;
  2. When you pay for or use our services;
  3. When you register to our events;
  4. When you browse our website;
  5. When you share content from our website; 
  6. When you interact with us via social media platforms.

 

D) WHO DO WE SHARE PERSONAL DATA WITH

In order to provide you with the services you request, your personal data may be provided to:

  1. Selected employees of ABF;
  2. Service providers: those ensuring provision of the services provided by ABF, in particular software services providers, marketing providers, customer service providers, and distributors of marketing and other materials such as newsletters, including employees of such entities;
  3. Tax advisors, professional advisors (e.g. auditors, lawyers), including employees of such entities;
  4. Entities providing payment services;
  5. Social media providers – using the services of ABF together with a social network may require ABF to share your personal data with social media providers.

 

E) INFORMATION WE DO NOT TRACK

We do not track or collect any sensitive information about you. This includes race, religion, ethnicity and political opinion.

 

F) HOW LONG ARE YOUR DATA RETAINED?

We keep your data for the period of time necessary to fulfil the purposes of processing as defined above; however, this data will be erased, when you stop interacting with ABF (i.e. after delivery of a particular service, unless ABF has a legitimate interest in keeping the personal data longer (for example to protecting ABF’s legal claims). This would be the case if ABF had a legal obligation to keep your data for a longer period of time (eg. applicable accounting rules), or in cases where applicable law obliges us to keep such records for a longer period.

 

G) ARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA SECURED?

We store electronic and in some cases physical copies of your personal data. In accordance with best practices, we maintain security safeguards that protect your data. We strictly limit who is allowed to access the information and we keep this number to a minimum. In addition, we maintain physical and cyber safeguards, server protection devices and software to minimize possible loss, misuse, or alteration of your data.

Your personal data may be stored and processed in countries where ABF carries out business or where its service providers are located. These countries may apply different privacy rules than the European Union, or the European Economic Area (EEA). In this case(s) ABF puts in place appropriate contractual and other measures to protect your personal data when personal data are transferred to related parties or third parties located in other countries.

In the case of cross-border transmission of data from the EEA to countries where the European Commission recognizes an insufficient level of protection of personal data, the controller ensures that those data recipients are bound by EU standard contractual clauses to protect your personal data.

 

H) WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS?

egarding your data, you have the following rights:

  1. To request access in order to correct or delete your personal data, as well as to restrict its processing; however, your right to delete or restrict processing is applicable only if ABF is not required to process it on another legal basis (i.e. compliance with a legal obligation);
  2. To object to the processing of your personal data processed with a legitimate interest, as well as against processing for marketing purposes.

Any participant, including speakers, delegates, subcontractors and staff, in order to gain access to the AgriBusiness Forum (here-after ABF), accept, agree and consent to the following terms and conditions:

  1. ABF is owned by the nonprofit organization “Geo Routes Institute” (here-after referred to as The Organizer) and lies under the latter’s jurisdiction.
  2. Participants acknowledge, agree and consent that during the forum The Organizer will allow photo coverage as well as video & audio recordings of presentations, for documentation purposes.
  3. Participants grant to The Organizer the right to freely use the aforementioned documentation through its affiliated websites, including – but not limited to – the balkansblackseaforum.org, www.geo-routes.com, www.agribusinessforum.org, and through social media channels connected to these websites, as well as to all media and communication partners, bodies, institutions or anyone else related with the ABF.
  4. The Organizer is committed to handling aforementioned content and data in a professional manner and solely in the context of the ABF aims. Any disagreement must be submitted – prior to registration – in written form to the following e-mail abf@geo-routes.com 
  5. ABF speakers and sponsors are solely responsible for the material presented to the forum, including the right for presenting such material publicly. The Organizer has no responsibility for copyrighted or otherwise protected material presented by any person during the forum without the consent of the creator or rights-holder.
  6. The Organizer may prohibit taking photos and/or making audio and video recordings by participants who have not received accreditation for such purpose. Only photographers / cameramen holding official accreditation are allowed to operate within the venues of the forum and during the latter’s events. Copy of any photographic material and/or audio and video recording created by a rightfully accredited person, shall be supplied to The Organizer.
  7. Unless Participants expressly and in advance deny their consent, The Organizer and his partners may photograph and/or record free of charge the voice and image of Participants, the stands or specific items displayed on them, and may distribute photos and/or recordings to third parties and to communicate them to the public, in the whole world, which may be presented (in particular in the form of live or delayed broadcasting), reproduced without limit as to the number of reproductions and published, in the whole world, in any format, using any method or process known or unknown at this time, in whole or in part, on all tangible or intangible media known or unknown at this time, including, in particular, the internet (the websites of The Organizer and its partners and social networks), and on any other promotional or marketing tool it may use for information or promotional purposes.

In case of disagreement with the above terms, you are kindly requested to refrain from registering to the event.

General Conditions of Participation:

 

Participation in the AgriBusiness Forum (hereafter ABF) means that the following provisions were read, understood, and accepted prior to registering to the forum:

  1. In-person registrations include 2-days conference attendance, 2-light meals (snacks), 4-coffee breaks, conference material, certification of attendance, and 1-Virtual registration. 
  2. Online registrations include a 2-days conference’s live streaming (real-time), e-conference agenda, e-certification of attendance, and access to the virtual Sponsors’ lounge.
  3. Registrations should be made online through the forum’s designated platform and are subject to the approval of the organizers.
  4. Registrations are not transferable and no refunds for cancelled registrations are accepted. 
  5. Students’ reduced fees require a valid academic ID or a student enrolment document. Documents shall be sent by email at: info@geo-routes.com
  6. Participants can access the forum’s venues upon presentation of the accreditation which will be provided by email prior to the forum
  7. Organizers reserve the right to amend the program and are not responsible for cancellations of speakers due to private reasons or other unforeseen circumstances.
  8. Organizers accept no responsibility for any statement made orally or in written form by any of the speakers, or the delegates during the forum, and for any reproduction, republication or redistribution of these statements.
  9. Participants accept, consent, and authorize the organizers to freely take photos and make video and voice recordings throughout the event. Furthermore, they agree and accept to personally appear into the aforementioned material which can be used for promotional and/or scientific purposes for an unlimited amount of time.

A. Flying to Athens 

Athens is accessible with more than 130 countries being gateway to the amazing Greek islands and mainland destinations. The award-winning Athens International Airport (Venizelos International Airport) is located about 20 km (12 miles) east of the city. You may find out more regarding a flight from your destination to Athens below:

Upon your arrival, you have the three available options to get the city center:

EXPRESS Bus routes connect directly the Athens International Airport (AIA) with Athens city center. Service is provided on a non-stop basis seven days a week including holidays. Buses depart from the Arrivals Level. BUS tickets are sold at the info/ticket-kiosk (located outside the Arrivals between Exits 4 and 5), or onboard (ask operator) at no extra cost.

If you select this option you may take Metro Line 3 (Aghia Marina – Douk. Plakentias – Athens International Airport), which connects the Athens airport with the city center. Trains run every 30 minutes, 7 days a week from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. The trip from the Airport to Syntagma station (Athens center) lasts 40 minutes. Metro timetable and tickets here.

Taxis are available at the designated Taxi waiting area located at Exit 3 of Arrivals Level. A taxi from the airport to the city center costs around €35* from 5:00 a.m. to midnight, and €50* from midnight to 5:00 a.m.

Note: The charge is determined by the time of arrival at the destination and includes all applicable surcharges and extras. * applicable surcharges included: toll cost, luggage fee, VAT and airport charge.

B. Transport in the city

  1. In Athens, there is an extensive, low cost public transport network covering the city including bus, underground, trolley, tram and taxi. You can use all means of public transport with the same ticket (not from/to the airport). A single ticket costs €1.40 and is valid for 90 minutes.

C. Tickets for Public Transport

Tickets and passes (Ath.ena tickets) for public transport are sold at ticket booths and machines in all Athens Metro and tram stations. There are three types of Ath.ena tickets: a paper ticket, an anonymous card that you can top up, and a personalized card. These tickets can be used on all forms of public transport.

D. Ticket Prices

A standard ticket on Athens public transport costs €1.40. Students and senior citizens over 65 are entitled to a reduced fare of €0.60 (student ID and proof of age are required upon ticket control or during purchase). Children up to the age of 6 travel free of charge; ages 7-18 pay €0.60 (proof of age required is required upon ticket control or during purchase).

Each ticket can be used for 90 minutes on any form of public transport (except services to/from the airport).

  • Day Pass (€4.50) is valid for unlimited travel (except airport services) for 24 hours.
  • 5-Day Ticket (€9) is valid for unlimited travel on all modes of transport (except airport services and bus line Χ80) for 5 days.
  • 3-Day Tourist Ticket (€22) is valid for unlimited travel (including 1 round trip to/from Athens International Airport).

E. Metro

The fastest means of getting around Athens is the Metro. The Athens Metro system consists of 3 lines and connects to the tram, bus routes and suburban railway. The Metro runs daily from 5 am to midnight. Lines 2 and 3 operate until 2 am on Fridays and Saturdays. At peak hours, trains run approximately every 5-6 minutes however, during the evenings and nights trains run every 10-13 minutes. More at Athens Metro Website

Line 1 is an overground train (commonly known among Greeks as ESAP) that runs from the northern suburb of Kifissia to the port of Piraeus. It connects to lines 2 and 3 at three stations (Attiki, Omonia and Monastiraki). More at Athens Piraeus Electric Railways Website

F. Taxis

Taxis are not expensive (though there is a minimum fare of €3,50 during the day and €5 after 23:00). You can pick them up at taxi ranks, stop them in the street or ask the reception desk to call one for you. The fare is charged per kilometer and per hour, so it is better to make certain that the meter is switched on as soon as you set off. Beat (formerly Taxibeat) is an app-based yellow taxi service which finds your location, gives you choice of taxis and offers the options of paying in cash, by card, or Paypal. Uber is also available in Athens with the UberTaxi product—you can call an Uber via your app and a yellow taxi will pick you up. Radio taxis is another option if you don’t feel like hitting the pavement to hail a cab, or if you want to ask for a specific pick-up time and date.

G. Visa Information & Requirements

Visa regulations depend on your nationality and country of origin. Please contact your local Embassy / Consulate for full and official instructions on the specific visa regulations and application procedures that apply to you. It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa, if required.

H. Letter of Invitation
Individuals need an official Letter of Invitation, it can be requested upon registration to the conference. Such Letter of Invitation will be provided within a week of your request and following to the payment of your registration. The Letter of Invitation does not financially obligate the Conference organisers in any way. All expenses incurred in relation to the Conference are the sole responsibility of the attendee.

It is declared that ABF has no responsibility about prices and schedules of any means of transport.

The Athenian Club

Athenian Club, est. in 1875, is Greece’s men’s exclusive Club, with strict procedures for selecting its members, which the maximum number is limited to 1,000 persons. During its long history, among its members, included 29 Prime Ministers, Ministers, Senior Government Officials, foreign Ambassadors, University Professors, academics, leading scholars and personalities of the Arts, Finance and Industry.

Participation in the Executive Roundtable is by invitation only and is closed to the public and the media. Dress code: business attire, with tie for gentlemen. Live streaming is not available
