Mr. Yiannis Tsatsakis

Yannis Tsatsakis was born in Athens in 1978.

He studied Political Science in the University of Birmingham and graduated with a Master’s Degree (ΜA) in Political Philosophy from the University of York.

He is Chief Editor at the weekly newspaper «Ypaithros Hora» and www.ypaithros.gr, both of them specializing in agricultural economy and providing leading intelligence and information on all aspects of the agri-food industry and the supply chain.

He writes on business, finance, competition, agricultural commodities, tax and insurance legistation, investment consultancy, economic policy etc

He has collaborated with a number of publications on the field of agriculture, food and commerce.

Mr. Alexandros Kouris

Greece Cyclades Microbrewery at Tinos Island, producer of the European Beer Star awarded NISSOS beer, Alexandros Kouris has over 25 years’ experience as a shareholder, professional manager and creator of companies in the fields of Advertising, Marketing and Communications. He has advised numerous business and institutional leaders and carried out professional projects in Greece, Southeast Europe, Middle East and Africa across a diverse array of industries.

From 2000 to 2011, Alexandros was shareholder, founder or co-founder and director in Critical Publics an intelligence based management consultancy in Athens and London, and Altervision a brand strategy, identity and communication consultancy in Athens and Thessaloniki. PRC Group Athens, shareholder of TUCK UK, TMI International, MRB/Millward Brown Greece, Advocate/Burson-Marsteller Greece etc. Before 2000 and for twelve years he worked in the Advertising industry having held senior positions in the following agencies: TBWA- Intermarkets, BBDO and JWT.

Born in 1966, father of two, he is an alumnus of Deere College (Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, major in Marketing) and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) having also completed a General Management program at INSEAD and a Diploma in Brewing and Malting program at KU LEUVEN University in Belgium. Alexandros is co-founder and General Secretary of the ELLA-DIKA MAS initiative.

Dr. Evdokia Krystallidou

Dr. Evdokia Krystallidou received her PhD in Animal Nutrition and an MSc in Dairy Animal Science from the University of Reading after being awarded a scholarship from IKY (Greek state scholarship institute). She holds Diplomas in Animal Production from the Technological Educational Institution (TEI) of Thessaloniki and ASPAITE (certified educator).

She worked as a part time lecturer at the Technological Educational Institution (TEI) of Thessaloniki and Larisa and as an advisor at Hellenic Feed Industries (ΕΛΒΙΖ).

She acted as program Leader for the Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in Animal Management program. He teaches at Perrotis College and the Adult Education Program of the American Farm School. She is the Senior Project Manager of the SPMO Strategic Programs Management Office where she is responsible for many research projects.

Her research interests include animal nutrition and its impact on animal products and human health, monitoring feed formulations to meet quality performance and animal health standards, and evaluating chemical and nutritional value of feeds.

Dr. Ilias Kalfas

Dr. Ilias Kalfas is an Agronomist with a specialty in Plant Protection, having a degree from the Faculty of Agriculture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He holds PhD from the University of London, Diploma of Imperial College and MSc in Production Organization and Quality Management in the Food Industry.

He has worked at the National Agricultural Research Foundation, ELGA, Certification Organizations, assuming positions of responsibility in the Region of Central Macedonia, National and European funded projects (both pure and applied research) and the American Agricultural School. He is a member of the European Commission’s ENV Panel (Research Executive Agency) and a reviewer in scientific journals.

He also is the Project Leader regarding plant production projects of Strategic Programs Management Office of the American Farm School. He participates in many research projects and his research interests include the implementation of high technology to Greek agriculture, the circular economy, the sustainability of the Greek farmers and the environmental impact of agriculture.

Dr. Konstantinos Mattas

Professor Mattas research experience includes Food and European Policy and analysis , Rural Development, Agricultural Marketing and Investment Analysis, International Trade inter-industry analysis with specialization to Input-Output models.

His experience is broadened by his employment as a manager in an enterprise of processing agricultural products and by his employment at the Ministry of Agriculture for several years. He is an expert in impact and policy analysis and has served in several relevant EU and National Food Policy Committees.

He is the editor of Agricultural Economics Review and member of the editorial boards of other scientific journals. He also served for six years as a member of the Board of the European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE). Mr. Mattas has been also Scientific and Project Coordinator of several European Research Projects.

Mr. Costas Apostolopoulos

Mr Apostolopoulos is Head of the Evaluation and Institutional Support Unit at the Managing Authority for Rural Development Programme in Greece. Managing the design and set-up of financial instruments, as part of the Greek RDP 2014 – 2020, is one of his main responsibilities.

Mr Apostolopoulos has been working in the management of Rural Development Policies for more than 15 years. He holds an MSc in European Economic Studies from the Athens University of Economics and Business.

Mr. Anthony D. Papayannides

Has read Law in Athens University. Post-graduate studies in Law, Economics and International Relations and in Medieval History in Strasbourg and Cambridge.  DEA European Law, DIHEE European Economy. Practiced business law and EU law. Consultant on E.U. topics to the Athens Daily Newspaper Publishers’ Association.

Member, then national representative, of the negotiating team for the Integrated Mediterranean Programmes. Counsellor to the Alternate Minister for Foreign Affairs, Counsellor to the Minister for Culture, Chairman of the Committee of Cultural Affairs at the E.U. Council. Consultant to the Bank of Greece. Founding member and member of the Board of a number of European affairs institutes and reviews in Greece (EKEME, EKEM, EEK)

From 1972 onwards a journalist and then a columnist at the Greek political daily “TO VIMA” and at the economic and financial weekly  “ECONOMICOS TACHYDROMOS”, specialising in macro-economic policy European affairs and foreign relations. Has also worked at “ELEFTHEROTYPIA” and “IMERISSIA” newspapers, managing editor of “ELEFHEROS TYPOS”.

Writes a bi-weekly column at “NAFTEMPORIKI”. Presently managing director of ECONOMIA Publishing, (“ECONOMIKI EPITHEORISSI”, “BUSINESS FILE”; writes a daily blog at economia.gr). Participates to the talk show “Evening Report” at ACTION 24 Channel.
