“Geo Routes Institute” is a nonprofit & nongovernmental organization that plans, develops and offers trips and events of cultural, environmental and educational character in Greece and beyond. Geo Routes© highlights the cultural heritage of Greece and facilitates inter-cultural dialogue among people.

  1. Arriving by airplane to Greece and then getting to Leptokarya

A1. Arriving to Athens 

Athens is accessible by airplane from more than 130 countries and serves as the gateway to the amazing Greek islands and other mainland destinations. The award-winning Athens International Airport – AIA (Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport) is located about 30 km (18 miles) east of the city center. A2. Arriving to Thessaloniki

Thessaloniki international Airport “Makedonia” is the third-largest airport in Greece, and is located 13 km southeast of the city. It is a gateway to Chalkidiki, and numerous cities in the region of Central Macedonia. 

To get to the venue you may consider following alternatives (AgriBusiness Forum has no responsibility on any means of transport):

From Athens: Buses leave from Athen’s bus station to Katerini (the capital city of Pieria regional unit in Central Macedonia) 3 times a day. Duration: 5 ½ hrs. Tickets & Schedules here

From Thessaloniki: Buses leave from Thessaloniki’s bus station to Katerini, nearly every half an hour. Duration: 55 mins. Tickets & Schedules here

On arrival to Katerini, it is recommended to hire a taxi to the venue (distance 35km, 30mins, est. cost 50€ one-way)

There are many rent a car companies offering low budget vehicles for getting to the venue. 

  • The distance from Athens International airport to the venue is 430 klms (4h30mins)
  • The distance from Thessaloniki International airport to the venue is 130 klms (1h30mins)

Β. Visa Information & Requirements

Visa regulations depend on your nationality and country of origin. Please contact your local Hellenic Embassy / Consulate for full and official instructions on the specific visa regulations and application procedures that apply to you. It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa, if so required.

C. Letter of Invitation

Individuals need an official Letter of Invitation which can be requested upon registration to the forum. Such a Letter of Invitation shall be provided within a week of its request and following the payment of your registration. The Letter of Invitation does not financially commit the forum’s organizers in any way. All expenses incurred in relation to the Conference are at the delegate’s sole responsibility.
